From Self-Taught to Storytelling Powerhouse
Born in Atlantic City, NJ, and creatively made in Philadelphia, PA, Christina Faith Johnson is a multi-hyphenated creative. She is a director, writer, producer, and mentor on a mission to tell bold stories that spark change and inspire action.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University and a Master of Divinity from Eastern University, Christina was set to pursue a career in social work. But storytelling was always calling. She often says, "I got my MFA from YouTube and Google University," a nod to her relentless self-taught journey fueled by curiosity, grit, and an unstoppable drive to create.
Determined to carve her own path in the film industry, Christina founded The Grindhouse Inc. This production company and creative agency focuses on crafting impactful films and mentoring rising creatives. Through this platform, she has produced, written, and directed feature films, digital series, commercials, music videos, and short films that connect with audiences and leave a lasting impression.
Her standout projects include the hit digital series Single and Anxious (22 episodes), short films (Carlos, Plan B, The Reunion), and the documentary 16 for 16: The Contenders. In 2021, Christina released two critically acclaimed feature films, Love You Right: An R&B Musical and Who Is Christmas Eve? Her momentum continued with projects like Masters of the Game, TheGrio Awards Pre & Post Show, and The Superfest Music and Comedy Post Show.
Beyond the screen, Christina shares her passion for storytelling as a Professor of Film at Esperanza College. She mentors the next generation of creators.
